What is yerba mate?
Pronounced yer-buh-mah-teh, yerba mate is a herbal tea. It’s also commonly known as ‘mate’. Made from the leaves and twigs of the Ilex paraguariensis plant. It’s a traditional drink in South America, specifically Argentina. It’s got less caffeine than coffee, more antioxidants than green tea, is packed with over 26 vitamins and minerals, and provides the same sensation of completing a 10 minute meditation on a mountaintop. Allegedly.
What are adaptogens?
Adaptogens are plant-based ingredients that help your body adapt to stress and handle the pressures of modern life. Notice the physical feeling you get when you check your phone first thing in the AM and you’ve already got 10 emails? Yeah, that kinda stress. They’ve been used in Chinese medicine and Ayurveda for centuries.
Can I drink Clara if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
We aren't doctors (sorry Dad), so we can't provide medical advice. We strongly recommend consulting your physician or another qualified healthcare provider before consuming Clara, especially if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
What makes Clara different from other teas?
Clara is a perfectly calibrated blend of yerba mate and adaptogens that balance caffeine's highs and lows for a smooth, clear experience.

Clara is proudly Australian owned and operated, and we blend and pack here in Australia.
What does Clara mean?
Clara means clear in Spanish (our Argentine co-founder Sofia’s mother tongue). For us, it evokes a sense of clarity. Because our mission is to make the world a little easier to navigate – online and offline. And it starts with a clear mind.
How to brew Clara?
Like any other loose-leaf tea. Brew one and a half teaspoons with 200mL water at 80-85 degrees for 3-5 minutes. Then sip, scroll, and stroll.
How to store Clara?
Our miron jars and compostable pouches will keep your tea fresh, and should be stored away from heat and direct sunlight (that means you shouldn’t put your pouch directly next to the stove or on the windowsill).
What is Miron glass?
Great question. Miron is the perfect type of glass for preserving things like herbs and plants. It filters light differently to other glass jars to preserve whatever’s kept inside for longer, and has been used for thousands of years. Just ask the ancient Egyptians.
How long does Clara last?
While tea doesn’t technically expire, we recommend consuming Clara prior to the best before date for the freshest and tastiest drinking experience. You can find this date on the bottom of your jar or pouch.
Where do you source your ingredients? Are they organic?
We source ethically-traded ingredients from our trusted (and friendly!) suppliers. We also only use 100% certified organic ingredients in every blend. The certified part is really important to us. It lets us know that we’re using only the highest-quality ingredients and that there will never be anything nasty or unnatural in your cup (that goes for sweeteners and flavourings, too).
When should I drink Clara?
Anytime you need to clear your mind or close your tabs. Mornings. Afternoons. Before that 2-hour Zoom meeting (that could have just been an email).
How much caffeine does a serving contain?
Clara contains approximately 30-40 mg of caffeine per serving (similar to that of a green tea) which is found naturally in the yerba mate plant. For comparison, a cup of black tea has about 50 mg of caffeine whereas coffee has around 100 mg of caffeine per shot. No wonder we get the jitters.
What delivery service does Clara use?
We ship all orders carbon neutral and plastic free from our Sydney location with Australia Post or Aramex.
How can I track my order?
After your order is confirmed, you will receive an email with tracking details from our selected courier. You can track your order with your tracking number and manage the tracking notifications you receive. If you ever have any questions, you can contact us here and we will get back to you ASAP.
How long does it take for orders to be dispatched?
Dispatch of your online order from our Sydney location will generally take between 1 to 3 business days from the time of your order being placed.
Express orders are dispatched no later than next business day from our Sydney location. Please note that dispatch timeframes do not include public holidays or weekends.
How long will my order take to be delivered?
Domestic shipping timeframes:
Standard: 3 to 5 business days.
Express: 1 to 3 business days.
New Zealand shipping timeframes:
Australia Post estimates delivery to New Zealand can be up to 10 to 20 business days. Please note this is a guide only and does not include any customs processing time upon arrival at the destination.

What are Clara's shipping costs?
Delivery within Australia:
Standard shipping is FREE for all online purchases $59 and above within Australia. Yay. But for orders $50 or less, or express shipping, please see below:
Standard shipping — 3 to 5 business days — $10.00
Express shipping — 1 to 3 business days — $15.00

Does Clara ship to PO Boxes?
We sure do! Please enter your PO Box address into the delivery address field as normal.
Please note that Clara is not responsible for any deliveries that may be affected by customs, natural occurrences, nor air and ground transportation strikes or delays.
Please note that all shipping timeframes are from the time of dispatch. Dispatch can take 1 to 3 business days from the time of your order being placed. Please note that this does not include public holidays, weekends or sale and promotional periods.
What is the Clara return policy?
We want you to be completely satisfied with your Clara purchase. If you are unhappy with your purchase, then upon presentation of your product with proof of purchase, you are welcome to return the item to us within 30 days of purchase, provided the product is in its original saleable condition.
In the event that your product is faulty, does not match its description or perform its function, then a refund will be made in its original payment method.
How do I return or exchange an item?
We want to make sure that you are 100% happy with your Clara tea goodies. If you have purchased online and you’d like to make a return or exchange, please contact our team here. Please ensure that you have your order number. Please note, if you wish to receive a refund for items purchased online, we do not cover the cost to return these items to us.
Items purchased online may be exchanged for another item or a Clara gift card. Please see below for refunds.
How long will my refund take?
Please contact our us here if you need to complete a refund. You will receive a confirmation email once your refund has been arranged. Once processed, you will receive your refund within 10 business days.
How does Clara commit to being a sustainable brand?
We only use 100% natural ingredients sourced from certified organic local and overseas growers. Our packaging is plastic free and printed with vegetable inks. It is recyclable and compostable.
All orders are shipped plastic free with carbon neutral couriers.
